Koeppen Selected As Fielders PA Announcer Click HERE for a list of games Greg is announcing!
Medleys In Motion Owner/DJ Greg Koeppen
has been hired by the Lake County Fielders Baseball team as their
new public address stadium announcer. The
Lake County Fielders are the newest franchise of the independent
Northern League and represent Lake County's only professional sports
team. The team is owned in part by long-time baseball fanatic and
Academy award-winning actor Kevin Costner. The new stadium facility,
home to the Fielders, will be located at the corner of Route 173 and
Green Bay Road in Zion, Illinois. “Working
as a public address announcer has been something I have wanted to
try for many years. What
a better opportunity than with a new team right here in Lake
County,” says Koeppen. Koeppen
will be splitting the PA duties with CLC Foundation Executive
Director Bill Devore. “Working
for the Farm Bureau as Executive Director and DJ’n at events every
weekend, I knew it would be difficult to commit to every home game
this season,” says Koeppen. “Bill
and I both look forward to making the inaugural season a memorable
one for the fans, players and Fielders staff,” adds Koeppen. While
the new 4,000 seat stadium is not slated for completion until Spring
2011, the Fielders will play their opening games at Carthage College
in Kenosha before moving to the new field with temporary stands and amenities in early July 2010. Managing partner of the Fielders, Richard Ehrenreich is also the owner of the Schaumburg Flyers. “I
would like to thank Kevin Costner and the entire Lake County
Fielders front office for giving me this unique opportunity and for
bringing first class baseball to Lake County,” says Koeppen. Koeppen’s first game will be Sunday, June 13 when the Fielders battle the Gary Southshore Railcats 1pm at Carthage. Koeppen’s pre-game announcements will begin at 12:15pm. For
